Dr. Vandana Singh is the driving force behind Kala Sampada, demonstrating dedication across diverse cultural heritage domains. Her extensive proficiency spans conservation, education, natural science, art, and traditional craftsmen's skill mapping. She holds a doctorate and master's in conservation from the National Museum Institute, New Delhi, and an M.Sc. in natural science (Chemistry) from Kanpur University. Recognized with a national award by the Ministry of Culture, New Delhi, she also received the Indian Conservation Fellowship from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation USA and the Ministry of Culture, India at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Vandana actively contributes as part of the international Metal Working Group of ICOM-CC and the Executive Committee of the Indian Association for the Study of Conservation of Cultural Property, New Delhi.
Her journey encompasses training from prestigious institutions like the International Institute for Conservation (IIC) in London, the American Institute for Conservation (AIC) in Washington, and IIC-ITCC Beijing. Vandana's focus on non-invasive imaging, analytical techniques, and Conservation Risk Assessment showcases her commitment to cutting-edge practices.
A pioneer in merging traditional craftsmen's skills with cultural heritage conservation, her approach infuses indigenous capabilities into the heritage landscape, fostering transformative change. Vandana's dedication has earned her several awards, reflecting her continuous growth and learning, including recognition from the Getty Foundation, NTICVA UK India, Science and Engineering Research Board DST, and the Ministry of Science & Technology and more.
